Anonymous said: What are your favorite lenses, and what situations do you use them in (portraits, landscapes, macros, etc)?

As of late, I’ve been primarily shooting on my Hasselblad with an 80mm f/2.8 CF T*. I seldom stick to one lens as “the” choice for each genre, but my most common pairings:

Landscape: Nikkor 16-30mm f/4G

Portrait: This can be all over the place depending on the type of portrait. I usually use my Zeiss 80mm f/2.8 CF T* or Nikkor 50mm f/1.8

Macro: Nikkor Micro 60mm f/2.8

Anything less controlled: parties, concerts, etc. I prefer a wider VR lens

That being said, I don’t have a huge arsenal of lenses. At the end of the day, I think it’s more interesting to experiment with the application of the lenses you do have than to be concerned with having the ideal lens for every situation.
